Real estate voyeurism: Where would you like to live before you die?

One side effect of watching the Olympics is thinking about what it would be like to pick up and move to Vancouver, which everyone is saying is a very livable city.

But you need to find the right house right? My favorite guilty pleasure lately is ogling those New York Times real estate stories, like this one, and wondering what my life would be like if I actually did toss it all up and, say, go live on a houseboat in the inner harbor of Oakland. (Okay, I didn't even know Oakland had a harbor.)

But why stop with Oakland? You can also trawl Craigslist for apartments in Rome.

Or a houseboat on the Seine.

Or a villa in Mallorca.
