UMass sophomore Zac Bissonnette already has a successful career as a blogger and soon-to-be book author on the topic of paying for college. In this provocative post for  Tina Brown's new online pub, The Daily Beast, he suggests that parents take a hard look at the cost-benefits of borrowing money for college.

Full disclosure: We're gung-ho about  public higher education, from community colleges to universities. If more parents considered these institutions as more than "fallback" choices, perhap these institutions would get the legislative support they need, and college could become affordable again.
